Howard Maas

I got my first guitar when I was sixteen and started my musical journey from then on. With various bands, from Rock to Easy-listening, I tried to master playing the guitar, and my Indian roots have certainly helped me. I know Frans, Harrie, and Annemiek from various music projects in Middelbeers, where it was always a joy to play along.

When they asked me if I wanted to play a Leonard Cohen set with a few other musicians, I hesitated after listening to the songs, unsure whether to join. I didn’t know the songs and didn’t really hear parts for an electric guitar. But the fact that it was Rinus's wish and that all previous projects had always been fun made me dive in anyway. 

Now, ten years later, I greatly appreciate the music and it has become increasingly easier for me to hear and play the guitar parts. It is still a celebration for me to stand on stage with this group of beautiful people and to present the music of Leonard Cohen in the best way possible.
