Hydra – the mythical Greek island – became Leonard Cohen’s sanctuary in the 1960s. It was there that he discovered love, tranquility, and inspiration, and where some of his most timeless and heartfelt songs were born.

With our new production “Tonight Will Be Fine”, we invite you to step into that magical time on Hydra – a period Cohen himself later described as “the days of kindness and care.” Memories of Marianne, of simplicity, and of the poetry of life still echo through his music today.

In 2025 we, too, travelled to Hydra, performing his songs on the very island where they first came to life. That journey left a profound impression on us – and it became the heartbeat of this show.

The first part of the evening pays tribute to Cohen’s Hydra years: music steeped in love, longing, and Mediterranean warmth. But as Cohen once wrote: “Days of kindness do not last.” His path led him further – into the world, searching for truth, confronting pain, yet always with honesty and grace.

In the second part, we follow that journey – tracing his evolution from wandering troubadour to master storyteller, with songs that still strike to the core.

Tonight will be fine… for a while.
